our story

We are Fatima and Rosina, high school friends for over 20 years and have been like sisters from day one. We have always dreamed of our own little business and are extremely proud that we have accomplished this together. Our friendship reached new heights when we entered a new phase in our life: mom-life, and with that also auntie-life of course. Mayah, Rosina's eldest of three (and the OG koekie), got the nickname 'koekie' from her auntie Fatima. With time, when she grew older and started saying her first words, she named her auntie 'koekie' as well and they've been calling each other koekie ever since! This is where studio koekie was born. With every new family member entering our tribe, ‘koekie’ is the go to nickname. Keeping the tradition alive, but also adding to the confusion as with everyone being named koekie, it can sometimes be a challenge to figure out what is going on. Are they calling one of the babies? Do they need auntie Fatima? Are they looking for Mayah? Or do they just want a cookie? Who knows! On the plus side; if you shout out ‘koekie’ someone always responds so for now we are sticking to it!

With four little girls in our midst, we discovered how much pleasure we get from shopping for these little monsters. Our brand stands for the cutest and comfiest collection for your little koekie with an emphasis on sustainability. You will find quality, long lasting items in our collection that can be worn for different seasons and years to come. We personally select each item carefully and hope your little one(s) will enjoy them for a long time before passing them on to the next generation!

We have started this business with the ultimate goal of creating a positive impact on our society. The first step in doing so, is establishing a solid brand.
